Denver Union Station is an Amtrak destination, and just over an hour from Loveland.
Please note that the train station has moved! Denver Union Station is under reconstruction, and Amtrak has now temporarily relocated to 1800 21st St., at the intersection of 21st St. and Wewatta St., near Coors Field in Downtown Denver. They will return to Union Station in spring 2014.
If you ride the train into Denver, please be sure to have someone pick you up. There are not car rental agencies within a convenient location, although there are local RTD (Denver bus) stops within walking distance. Please note the Denver RTD system will not transport you to Loveland. If you're really desperate or very adventurous, theoretically one can take the Denver RTD to 8th and Coffman in Longmont, then pick up the FLEX bus service from there up to Fort Collins with a stop in Loveland. Theoretically. Do your research if you're going to try this, as I don't know anyone who has ever actually tried this.
Once in Loveland, there is the City Of Loveland Transit (COLT) bus service. It may or may not take you everywhere you want to go. Again, double-check the routes, and if at all possible we suggest you make your life easier by renting a car.
